Abundance Change Me Prayer

Hex sign abundance

From my friend Tosha Silver, author of Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead

She posted this on Facebook this morning, and I am compelled to share it with you. It is simply beautiful and is something that we can all use.

Abundance Change Me Prayer.

If you feel drawn, let it enter your Being, releasing any old ideas of constriction or limitation and returning Your true essence as expansive, radiant Light.

"Divine Beloved, Change Me into someone who can give with complete ease and abundance, knowing You are the unlimited Source of All.

Let me be an easy open conduit for Your prosperity. Let me trust that all of my own needs are always met in amazing ways and it is safe to give freely as my heart guides me.

And equally, please Change Me into someone who can feel wildly open to receiving. Let me know my own value, beauty and worthiness without question. Let me allow others the supreme pleasure of giving to me. Let me feel worthy to receive in every possible way.

And protect me dear Lord from those whose hearts may be closed. Let me extend kindness to all who need, feeling compassion and understanding in even the hardest situations.

Change me into One who can fully love, forgive and accept myself... so I may carry your Light without restriction.

Let everything that needs to go, go. Let everything that needs to come, come. I am utterly Your own.

You are Me. I am You. We are One.

All is well.

Reiki Mishmash

I just finished reading an issue of Reiki News Magazine from William Rand's ICRT, and while it was quite interesting and informative, there were some articles that seemed to me to stretch the definition of reiki a bit too far. For example, I cannot recall any of Usui's work including the use of Power Animals or even Reiki Guides at all, and the Guides are definitely presupposed in most of the practices outlined in the magazine.

So this leads me to wonder how we can separate traditional Usui Reiki from these other spiritual constructs without lowering the esteem of either. I believe that they all can coexist happily, but that for people who are not comfortable discussing saints & animal totems pure reiki can suffice. Any thoughts?

Reiki for Orthodox Jews

There has been much written recently about Reiki and christianity, with the Catholic church coming out strongly against Reiki (smacks of the witch burnings, if you ask me). But while I know many Jews who practice reiki I haven't seen much discussion of the practice amongst Orthodox Jews. The I found this Hocus POcus post on an Orthodox Jewish woman's (Hannah Sarah's) blog discussing her mother's practice of Reiki and an interesting discussion in the comments about whether Reiki is an acceptable practice or avoda zara.

My mother was telling me about auras and all that stuff. As I'm inclined to believe my mom, I listened to what she had to say. Apparently, a healthy person has a large egg shaped aura evenly spread all over their whole body. My mother said that she was once working on 2 ladies (physical therapy- at 2 different times) and felt that their aura was large in most places but over their breast it was quite small. My mother suggested they check out to make sure everything is ok with their breast, and one ended up having a massive breast infection in that breast, and the other discovered she had cancer in that breast.
Creepy. Totally.

I don't know yet that I'm a complete believer in energy healing, but I won't dismiss it completely like I used to... I used to have my husband put his hands on my stomach when i had bad morning sickness and it helped the way a hot pack would...

Regarding Reiki's status...

A good friend of mine (Billie) who is a doctor of Chinese medicine, asked a big rov in NY, and she got a ruling that it was NOT avoda zara, so take it for what it's worth. She knows that any energy she uses is a gift directly from Hashem, and that she is just a pipeline for that energy. She takes no credit for her abilities whatsoever, and makes sure that all of her patients know that.
